GT380A (1976)

In the late 90s there was a real lack of decent GT380s around or up-for-sale. After searching for a fair while I happened on a chap in Shropshire who was selling what appeared to be a very nice one, with a good history and he'd owned it since the 1970's.
He was an elderly chap and not using his bikes anymore so it had been stored for a couple of years but had been kept running and covered in WD40 so condition is really excellent condition for a genuine standard bike, not one which had been restored.
Bike had standard wheels, but for a while I fitted Mellor Alloys as they went nicely with the Maui Blue.
With the standard spoke wheels fitted below.

Ran a Piper 3-1 for a while, they are awesome.
I had this bike for 14 years and used the bike many times every year I owned it. Eventually sold in 2014 but this is one of those bikes I wish I'd kept.
Apart from the usual consumables like fluids, brake pads, C&S, batteries, brushes & tyres etc. this bike didn't really need anything done to it.
Obviously carried out regular servicing with Oil changes and a few de-cokes over the years.
I decided to fit a an Electronic Ignition simply as a precaution as the points had been on there a long time and while there fitted new HT leads and Caps.
I did fit NOS front and rear Mudguards simply as they had more bling than the ones it came with.

A great bike, fun to ride and never let me down.
Bike is now 50 years old, it's still registered with DVLA and I assume still going. At its last MOT in 2017 it had put on over 4000 miles since I'd sold it but at they don't need MOTs then can't see any updates since then.
