GT380M (1976)
These are the first pictures taken after picking up this GT380M back in 2001.
When I got the bike had been standing for a number of years and was sold as a non runner.
It was sporting a number of aftermarket bits and parts had been stripped off and in boxes.
Cleaned out the tank, new fuel, checked the ignition, removed cleaned and rebuilt the carbs and it fired into life 3rd kick!

Had been standing for a good few years and not in ideal conditions so was going to need a lot of work to get it looking good, but the bones were all there and amazingly it fired up without a fuss.
Bike was stripped down and in the background and over many years gradually rebuilt into what was eventually going to be a a very nice GT.
But first the donkey work.

Frame and all black-work was blasted and recoated at CTC in Maldon, numerous bits replaced with new, very good or rechromed or zinced bits.
Lots of time and money spent sourcing book parts as well as doing the work on the bike.
Post rebuild pictures.

Turned out very nice and was a very nice bike to ride, but there are only so many Red GT380Ms you can have at the same time so it had to go.
Sold in 2012, some 11 years after I got it.
According to DVLA/DVSA data it's last change of keeper was in 2012, which is when I sold it, Last MOT and Tax in 2016. In 2016 it would have been 40 years old and so I'd not expect Tax or MOT data since then so assume the same owner still has the bike!
