Cagiva Xtra Raptor (2004)

Only covered a few hundred miles on this one so far but this one has a very different personaility to the other Raptor with those mapping changes and exhaust changes.
If feels like the old Suzuki TL1000S on acceleration.
I have been so impressed with the V-Raptor 1000 I got in 2021 that when this X-Raptor and also a low mileage V-Raptor come up for sale in 2025 I got them both.
The X-Raptor was the last and rarest incarnation of the Raptor 1000 range with the final run being set to no more than 999 units with each one having a uniquely numbered plate on the bike. Speaking to other Cagiva owners it seems the general opinion is the Cagiva never did make the 999 target and more likely less than 500 were ever produced worldwide, so a fairly rare animal.
Like the Raptor and V-Raptor versions this is and Italian designed machine but powered by a they well regarded Japanese Suzuki 996cc V-Twin Engine (as used in the TL1000S, TL1000R and the SV1000).
The Xtra Raptor had various updates over the standard and V versions of the bike. These included fully adjustable suspension, different Exhausts (not shown here) and stacks of Carbon replacing the 'carbon look' plastic panels of the other models.
At the time these Raptors were made Cagiva owned both MV Agusta and Ducati. As such the frames on these are badged MV Agusta and much of the running gear on the bike is derived from Ducati.
This one came to me with a bunch of additional carbon bit and the following :
Carb Akroprovic Exhausts
Power Commander Remap
Aprilia RSV Swig Arm Conversion
Ohlin’s Shock
Carbon Indicator Pods
Carbon Front Mudguard
Carbon Bellypan
Ger Indicator
Screen
