GT380M (1975)
OK this one is unusual!
Had been out on my 1975 GT380M with local VJMC members and parked up at Walton-on-the-Naze when a chap called Martin popped over and said his dad used to have one of those and that it was in a shed at his out and wasn't sure what he was going to do with it.
A few days later I went over to take a look and found out it had been used for some form of classic racing back in the day but was completely in bits.
He initially said he was going to rebuild the bike so I left it at that.
Some months later I noticed he'd put the bike up for sale, so I gave him a call and discovered he'd decided it was too much work to get it done and he didn't have the time, so I popped back over and deal was done.
For the observant and knowing GT380 people out there you will have spotted that although this is indeed a genuine GT380 frame it has been modified in several places, most notably the rear peg frames and a hole in the headstock (still not worked that one out!). It's also been modded to take the slimline race tank and also the seat pod.
Lots of larges boxes of bits with loads of duplicates as I’d guess you'd expect if it had been the backup parts for a race effort. Took a while to sort out and reorder the parts, but got these eventually.
It was a bit of a struggle but managed to get the V5C registration document from the DVLA for £25.
Currently a parts bike, but one day maybe.. :-)
